About Code & Culture

Through this insider's briefing, I examine the intersection of technology, policy, and organizational change—revealing patterns and frameworks that can help Canadian institutions navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape. My analysis goes beyond technical implementation to explore how technology shapes governance, security, and public trust.

This newsletter serves as a bridge between technical expertise and policy implications, providing the context and clarity decision-makers need when technology and governance converge.

Each edition offers insights I typically reserve for boardrooms and executive sessions—practical wisdom that transforms technical complexity into strategic advantage.

The post frequency will be on a bi-weekly schedule.

About me

I transform complex technology challenges into strategic opportunities for organizations navigating digital transformation. By embedding security as a foundation for growth rather than a limitation, I help leaders build resilient, forward-thinking organizations.

My journey spans from rescuing derailed digital projects to guiding $1 Billion+ modernization efforts across cloud architecture, DevSecOps transformations, and enterprise security frameworks. This hands-on experience with organizations like Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Fujitsu, Accenture, and various public sector entities has given me unique insight into how technology decisions cascade through institutions and shape their futures.

As a LinkedIn Learning author and public library board director, I've developed a passion for translating complex technical concepts into actionable strategies that resonate with senior decision-makers.

Subscribe to join a community of forward-thinking leaders examining how technology can strengthen institutions and serve broader societal goals in an era where digital transformation touches every aspect of public and private governance.

Future Paid Subscription

Ethics Statement

Our Ethics statement is pretty simple.

At Code & Culture I do not:

  • Accept any form of payment to write about a company or product

  • Post affiliate links to get any kick backs.

I endeavour to strive to give you the best possible opinion and analysis, but realize I will be wrong occasionally. When I are we will acknowledge and correct it.

The reason I do this is because our main focus is to ensure your trust when I provide you the guidance and tools to help you solve your problem(s) effectively.

I am currently self-funded with a goal of launching a paid subscription newsletter allowing me to commit full-time to this endeavour (researching, writing, speaking and advising).

This ethic statement was inspired by Derek Sivers and Gregory Orosz.
